I often see films that ignore a creative, full-feeling sound design, which is a missed opportunity.
Most people think sound design is just dropping in a song or a single track of ambient room tone, but it's so much more than that. Filmmakers can and should get really creative with a unique soundscape that makes their film stand out.
Creating an atmosphere isn't just what your audience sees, it's what they hear, and that is a chance to really take them on an unexpected ride.
I really enjoy watching a film that took the time to elevate its story with a great, well-produced sound design. I hope to see more.
