I have a children's book coming out late this year. Hitting department stores in Australia. This aint my first rodeo - I've released books in the past. But I am fresh out of book launch ideas.
Any tips and tricks from my amazing Stage 32 community?!

Congrats on the book. Try a story walk in a local park. Partner with a museum or zoo if it fits your theme. Keep it simple and family friendly. What's the age range?

Sam Rivera Ohhhhh I like the story walk idea! Thank you! It's a picture book for ages 4-9. It's about a black and white cow who has the same personality traits as the farm's black and white border collie and can't work out why she can't be a dog on the farm and must behave like a cow. It's very funny but the story is be who you are inside regardless of what your outside says. I think an outdoor launch would be very effective - thank you!

Congrats Lauren Hackney! This sounds adorable and such a great message for that age range.
If you’re leaning toward an outdoor launch, one simple idea could be a short read-aloud with a playful twist—maybe inviting kids to “act like a cow trying to be a dog” during parts of the story. It brings the theme to life and makes it really memorable.

Hey Lauren, congrats on the upcoming launch , especially hitting department stores in Australia, that’s a strong position already.
Most launch advice people will give you here is surface level (giveaways, ads, email blasts).
But there are a few less obvious launch angles that actually change how books get picked up by retailers + early readers react to them.
I’ve seen a few authors miss this completely even with good launches.
