Hi everyone, my name is Dmitry Orlov. I’m a composer, orchestrator, and arranger originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, and I’m now based in Athens, Greece.
My musical background includes composition, orchestration, arrangement, jazz improvisation, violin, and viola. I work across a wide range of musical genres—from orchestral and vocal music to cinematic music and musical theatre.
What I really enjoy is bringing different musical styles and people together and creating something that feels unique.

Your background is fascinating from St. Petersburg to Athens, with such a wide range across orchestral, jazz, vocal and cinematic music. That mix of classical training and improvisation must give you a really distinct voice as a composer. That’s a serious musical foundation. Composition and orchestration alongside jazz improvisation and string playing is a rare combination, and it tends to show up in the work. Composers who can actually play in an ensemble hear things differently than those who only write, and it matters when a score needs to breathe with performance rather than sit on top of it.
Working across orchestral, vocal, cinematic, and musical theatre also means you can serve a much wider range of projects than most composers here.
