Jack Vincent-I am 73 and just wrote my first video game script. I have long covid.
It is some 65000 words- like three + movies in length, with all the options needed in a complex video game, like RED DEAD REDEMPTION. I ghost write novels and scripts for pay, and give advice to people on here, and from ads on craigslist that want a writer.
I also have ehlers danlos. That alone is an almost impossible burden. BUT...
Until April of 2024 I taught full time, played violin recitals, wrote as I do now, and was moving pianos by myself in the classroom. Then covid...the curse of our time.
What you have done in your late 60's is impressive. Rage, rage against the dying of the light (said Dylan Thomas). Good, positive, artistic struggle gives you a reason to live.
Ivry Gitlis was still playing violin in his mid- nineties. So amazing-so emotional. Look him up on youtube if you feel overwhelmed by your age!
Nothing is impossible if your will is strong enough. I am determined to do as much as I can, as you are doing. Hats off to a warrior!

Well done Jack Vincent. I’m thrilled that you are getting so much out of Stage32 and that you are developing your career at such a wonderful age! I’m doing the same, as I’ve just had my 68th birthday. What genres do you like the best?

Geoff, I love drama, both romantic and thriller. That tension of what’s going to happen next, climaxing with a lesson, whether or not the protagonist learns it, the audience does.
And you?

Hey there, Jack Vincent I love to twist and bend genres. I’m not a romance guy and I can’t write comedy to save my life. However, there is usually some thread of humour in most of my stories. I like to infuse my scripts with psychological tension, whatever the genre. Whether it’s social issues or with my latest script, cosmological/existentialist sci-fi, you have the psychological tension alongside more humorous moments.
It’s great to see both of us - at our advanced age - working on developing a career in film and tv. Do you have a showreel?

No words, Jack Vincent !!! Really motivating, particularly for the ones who have doubts in their perspective dreams and goals, who are prone to self-sabotage and overthinking.

That's incredible Jack! Very inspiring. We actually had a really great webinar from a member who won an Oscar in his 70's when he started his creative career and the tools he used to do it, perhaps you'll find it helpful!: https://www.stage32.com/education/products/the-tools-you-need-to-transit...
