Introduce Yourself : Howdy, from Maryland! by Eric Andersen

Eric Andersen

Howdy, from Maryland!

Hey everyone, I’m Eric—33, writer, action fan, and proud creator of a new screenplay I just posted. If you’re into gritty thrillers, give my logline a look. The best way I can describe Obligated to Valor: The Raid meets Sicario. I’m looking to sell this project to a team with the heart, hands, and hunger to bring it to life. If you love explosive action, grounded characters, and war-torn urban chaos, this script is for you. Appreciate your time—have a great day. Okie doke?

Maurice Vaughan

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Eric Andersen. What's one of your favorite Action movies?

Eric Andersen

I'm a big fan of the Raid, Die Hard, and the Matrix. Classics that defined my taste.

Maurice Vaughan

I'm a big fan of those movies too, Eric Andersen. I'm outlining a Fantasy Action script, and your comment got me thinking about writing some of my scenes like the scenes in The Raid and The Matrix. Thanks.

Shaun Jackson Williams

Hello everyone, my name is Shaun Opal, and I am glad to be a part of such a good networking community group.

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Shaun Jackson Williams. Welcome to the community.

Shaun Jackson Williams

I am a romance suspense writer I am currently working on my episodes now. I love this. Writing is a part of my inner voice that I can express through my characters. My 9 to five job is that of a social worker, and a social justice advocate. I am currently working on my doctorate defense, but I took this summer off just so that I can freely write without time constraints. I have entered my pilot into a few festivals, and I am looking to enter it again along with episode one. I am highly debating if I should just reenter my pilot and not episode one. My project is going to be placed I can feel it good things are happening.

Maurice Vaughan

Hope you win the festivals, Shaun Jackson Williams! You could post your scripts on your profile. Producers search profiles on here for projects. Thank you, Ashley and Ryan!

Randy Sell

Hey Eric — The Raid meets Sicario? Okie doke, I’m already ducking for cover.

I’m on the other end of the genre scale with James Christ, a comedy about Jesus’s forgotten little brother (Life of Brian meets Lady Bird).

Grit or giggles, always good to meet another writer swinging for impact.

Eric Andersen

Thanks, Randy! I like your premise! It's a classic joke with a lot of potential. He could've been the sidekick character in Jesus Christ Superstar who sang just as the curtain closed and audibly voiced his dismay that he keeps getting cut off. I'd love to talk shop with you.

Amanda Toney

Hi Eric! I just checked out your logline for Obligated to Valor - what a fun cast of characters you've put together on a mission! What inspired you to write that script?

Laquan Copeland

Hey Eric! Obligated to Valor sounds like a high-octane ride—The Raid meets Sicario is intense and compelling . I respect the clear vision and energy you're bringing to your work. I'm part of the Stage 32 team and also work in animation and development, so I always love seeing writers bring gritty, character-driven stories to the forefront. Wishing you the best in getting this script into the right hands—it sounds like a story that’s ready to explode off the page. Let’s stay connected!

Eric Andersen

Hi Amanda Toney thank you so much for checking it out. I wrote Obligated to Valor during a time when I was wondering why there aren't any more action films like there were in the 80s and 90s. I wanted to capture the feel of raw personalities and impossible tasks that used to be everywhere in film. I wanted to create a modern myth where loyalty is a death sentence, truth is a luxury, and everyone's running out of excuses not to do the right thing.

Eric Andersen

Hey @Laquan Copeland. Thanks for the encouragement. And hell yeah, let's stay connected.
