Hi everyone! I’m currently developing Schnoster Industries, a character-driven mockumentary workplace comedy set inside a dysfunctional family-run toilet paper company. The series follows Tessa Schnoster as she struggles to save the company — and prove herself — before losing control of it to her highly successful and cocky older brother.
This started as a student project while I was attending my full-time acting and film program. I have a student proof-of-concept pilot episode that has already been filmed. I am currently exploring financing, crowdfunding, sponsorship, and investor opportunities as I continue building the project into a professional proof of concept and series package. I’d love to connect with fellow producers, investors, comedy creatives, or anyone with experience in indie television financing and development!
Gabrielle Beattie Honestly, the premise already feels very easy to visualize, which is a huge strength for comedy. A dysfunctional family-run toilet paper company immediately creates tone, personality, and room for ongoing character conflict.
I also think mockumentary format works especially well when the characters genuinely believe in the seriousness of their own chaos, and Tessa trying to hold everything together while competing with her older brother sounds like a strong emotional/comedic engine for the series.
The fact that you already produced a proof-of-concept while in a student program is impressive too, because getting something made "even on a smaller level" teaches so much about tone, pacing, and collaboration.
Wishing you the best as you continue building the package and financing side of the project. It definitely sounds like a concept with clear identity and audience potential.
