It's shaping up to be a strong year for both domestic (U.S.) box office and international. As Zootopia 2 zooms past $1bn for the first PG film to do so, the state-side theatrical take to date is at $8bn with eyes glued to see if we can reach the $9bn mark with strong holiday season cinema audience attendance.
That would be a very good shot in the arm for theatrical distribution.

Very successful to be sure. But I honestly would like to relate that to number of ticket sales, as ticket prices at box office are higher than at any other time.

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg Good point, much of the growth in box office can be attributed to increased ticket prices over the last decade. However, the standout successful titles are indeed an indication of increased audience attendance.
