Screenwriting for animation feedback: Logline

Any feedback on this log line would be greatly appreciated.

For Fire and Fur, an animated tv series, age 8+ (upper end of the 6-12 market)

When a rat-based weapon-of-war is unleashed, a rookie ship-mouser Cat-Dragon must develop the hunting and elemental magic skills necessary to protect those she treasures most.

Your logline is clear and concise. I would love if there was an adjective in there to tell us something about the rookie. Also, where does this take place? Is this in a contemporary urban sitting, medieval or pirate-esque time setting?

Sarah Chernik

Thank you Kevin that's extremely helpful.

"When a rat-based weapon-of-war is unleashed in a war-torn Sailpunk solar system, an introverted, fastidious, rookie Cat-Dragon must develop the hunting and elemental magic skills necessary to protect those she treasures most."

By Sailpunk I am trying to indicate something along the lines of Pirates of Dark Water meets Disney's Treasure Planet. There is interplanetary travel via tall ships but rather than going through space the ships travel through magical gates and into an interplanetary nexus that takes the shape of a mysterious star sea. I also considered Steampunk but my inspiration is more 1700's golden age of piracy than 1800's. I am open to suggestions of what would work best, including pirate-esque.
