Animation : RIP Marjane Satrapi by Banafsheh Esmailzadeh

Banafsheh Esmailzadeh

RIP Marjane Satrapi

Yesterday we lost a truly talented artist Marjane Satrapi, author of the comic memoir Persepolis, recounting her childhood and early adulthood from Iran to Europe and back again, which was also adapted into an animated film by her and Vincent Paronnaud. The animation is clean and affecting, and it really stings that we'll never see any more of her works.

Did you watch/read Persepolis?

Banafsheh Esmailzadeh I just read about this yesterday. What an incredible life and the opportunity she had to produce art that made a significant difference in the world is truly humbling. I was not familiar with the work before yesterday but I read several articles about her and am so happy she had the opportunity to be such a light for others.
