About the job

I’m seeking a Producer and Director for EMIGRANT TO IMMIGRANT — a premium Indian drama series with a powerful emotional and spiritual core. This is a fully developed, creator-led series conceived as a multigenerational epic exploring migration, memory, family, and identity.

Blending intimate realism with a subtle futuristic frame, the series moves between Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, Canada, and a speculative future, telling the life story of a man shaped by poverty, loss, love, and resilience.

Series Format: 12 episodes × 55 minutes

Genres: Drama / Family Saga / Immigrant Story / Multigenerational Epic

Tagline: “The past is never lost—it lives on in the stories we dare to tell.”

Series Logline

In the future, an old man’s memoirs pull him back to his childhood in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, where poverty, betrayal, and buried secrets forged the survivor he became.

Pilot Logline

Inspired by true events, an elderly Indian man reflects on his journey from poverty to a new life in Canada—and back home—where love and purpose shape his rise as a celebrated screenwriter.

Series Overview

Set in 2065, a massive, silent spaceship hovers above a futuristic Asian metropolis. Inside a traditional home surrounded by towering skyscrapers, Kavian (90) sits in meditation. As his thoughts deepen, the story travels back to 2020, when he begins documenting his life and reconnects with his aging father to uncover forgotten truths—starting with a near-death experience in infancy that quietly shaped his destiny.

What unfolds is a deeply emotional journey across decades and continents—moving from Dharavi to Canada, from survival to self-realization, and from memory to meaning.

What I’m Looking For

Producer

  • Experience in premium drama, series development, or international co-productions
  • Strong packaging, financing, and market sensibility
  • Passion for diaspora, family, and character-driven stories

Director

  • Strong emotional intelligence and visual restraint
  • Ability to balance intimacy with scale and time shifts
  • Interest in grounded, human storytelling with cinematic ambition

I am looking for collaborators who want to shape, elevate, and package this series for studios, streamers, and international platforms.

What’s Ready

  • Pilot episode: Welcome to This World
  • Synopsis and pitch deck
  • Series concept, long-term vision, and story materials
  • Clear tonal direction and character arcs designed for premium television

If you are interested in a mature, emotionally resonant series about migration, family, and legacy—with Indian roots and global appeal—I would love to connect.

All positions will be paid once a producer is secured and funding is in place. Serious collaborators only. Thank you for your understanding.

Olivier Nkinzingabo

Hello Nayden,

My name is Olivier, and I’m very interested in becoming part of EMIGRANT TO IMMIGRANT. The emotional depth, multigenerational storytelling, and spiritual undertones of the series immediately stood out to me.

What especially connected with me is the way the story blends grounded human experiences with a futuristic atmosphere while still remaining intimate and emotionally honest. The movement between Dharavi, Canada, and the speculative future creates a cinematic scope that feels both personal and universal.

I’m deeply passionate about visual storytelling, emotional pacing, atmosphere, and character-driven narratives. I’m particularly drawn to stories about identity, legacy, resilience, migration, and memory because they create lasting emotional impact across cultures.

I also appreciate the restrained and mature tone you’re aiming for. The contrast between quiet emotional moments and large-scale futuristic imagery has strong potential for premium cinematic storytelling.

My creative interests include:

• Emotional and cinematic storytelling

• Visual direction and atmosphere

• Character-focused drama

• Stylized editing and pacing

• Story development with global appeal

I would genuinely love the opportunity to collaborate, contribute creatively, and help shape the emotional and visual identity of the series as it moves toward packaging and production.

Thank you for your time, and I’d be excited to connect further.

— Olivier
