THE MISSTEP

THE MISSTEP
By Sandra Isabel Correia

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense
LOGLINE:

A distracted woman stumbles into the wrong apartment, triggering a surreal journey where she meets her identical self, who reveals that overcoming her ADHD holds the key to her ultimate transformation.

SYNOPSIS:

After a draining day, Claire, her mind adrift in the mundane and struggling with the constant currents of ADHD, is led by a simple distraction into the wrong apartment. Oblivious at first, she soon uncovers an unsettling truth, but an unyielding curiosity compels her deeper into the unfamiliar.

Within, she discovers a faintly glowing artifact, radiating a mysterious energy she can't resist. Her touch ignites a chain of events, shattering her reality. Suddenly, the world around her descends into a disorienting spiral: a shadowy figure, a terrifying abduction, and an unsettling journey into an unknown, chaotic landscape.

Claire finds herself disoriented, her senses battling to comprehend the escalating nightmare. As the lines between the real and unreal blur, she's thrust into a sleek, sterile room where her captors seem to vanish as quickly as they appeared. Confusion mounts until a chilling revelation confronts her, forcing her to question everything she knows about herself and the nature of her own mind. Could this harrowing experience be a unique manifestation of her neurodivergence, a journey into a parallel existence where a profound, unconventional cure awaits?

"The Misstep" is a surreal psychological thriller that plunges into themes of identity, control, and the mind's profound, often unsettling, power to reshape reality when faced with overwhelming internal chaos. Claire's journey is a gripping exploration of perception, leaving audiences to ponder what truly defines truth and the extraordinary paths to self-discovery.

I love the idea, but suggest a wording change to improve the flow (cadence, metre, poetry). How about this:

An absent-minded woman blunders into the wrong apartment to confront an identical version of herself, uncovering a parallel existence and finding the cure for her ADHD.
