By Erika Simonian

GENRE: Comedy
LOGLINE:

Sandwiched between her young children and her zany, terminally ill mother, a middle-aged woman moves from New York City to a tiny suburb where she grapples with loss, disorientation, and her own piercing judgments.

SYNOPSIS:

Neurotic, Type-A Tanya Springer has lost her job, impeding her ability to afford to live in her long-time hometown of New York City. Over the past twenty-five years, she developed a singular career in a niche position, as well as an inflated sense of ego. When, at age forty-six, she is replaced by a computer, she has to face the reality that she has no marketable skills. Except that, she doesn't.

Tanya reluctantly moves with her husband and young daughters to an affordable, yet absurd Connecticut suburb, where she is, without question, a fish out of water. As she struggles to adapt, she is befriended by a host of hilarious characters who force her to re-adjust her sense of identity.

Meanwhile, Tanya's loving, hilarious and free-spirited mother is dying of cancer. Can Tanya grow up enough to handle this inevitable loss and enormous life-change?
