When a whistleblower is murdered for exposing corruption, his grieving daughter and estranged wife must rise from the ruins of their former life to lead a grassroots revolution in a divided city—armed only with his secrets and their resolve.
SYNOPSIS:
In a city split between rich Uptown and impoverished Downtown, Michael, an insurance agent, secretly uncovers systemic fraud targeting the poor. When his discovery threatens powerful elites, he’s murdered, leaving behind encrypted evidence for his daughter Emily. With Michael dead, the family falls below the income limit that forces the poor to leave Uptown.
Forced to move Downtown, his wife Anna, once blind to inequality, spirals into desperation. While Emily joins a rising activist group led by the charismatic Cassius, Anna, unaware of the movement’s momentum, is played into mogul Brian's hands by his lover Judy, who is also the crooked cop who killed Michael. Anna agrees to work for Brian's escort service he uses to pressure politicians, to protect her daughter by earning the money she needs to move back to Uptown.
As Emily exposes the truth about her father’s death, Michael’s spirit, trapped between worlds, must let go to help his family survive. A climactic rainstorm, sent by Angel Joe to reward Michael's spiritual progress, saves Anna and Emily from Judy's assassination attempt.
Together, mother and daughter ignite a viral protest campaign using Michael’s evidence. Their bold move forces the corrupt mayor to resign, elevates Cassius to the first Black police officer in decades, and frees Michael’s soul.
