HOT FUDGE WARRIORS

HOT FUDGE WARRIORS
By J. Maverick McWilliams

GENRE: Science Fiction, Drama
LOGLINE:

Terrorists heralding Armageddon kidnap an orphan girl's sick granny, and the family's survival depends on a brave ice-cream man, his neurotic wife, his vengeful ex (an assassin), and a general struggling to stop a second U.S. Civil War.

SYNOPSIS:

Michael Fudge drives an ice-cream truck in a small Southern town struggling after global warming destroyed its tourism industry. The local theme park has laid off its cartoon mascots, who join a violent, anti-government insurrection led by religious fanatics. So, Fudge and his wife, who are both National Guard members, must help restore order, stop a civil war, and rescue an orphaned girl's sick grandmother from kidnappers.

That mission raises concerns about how to fight religious extremism while preserving the Fudge family's own spiritual values. Fudge and his hyper-compassionate wife, Millicent ("Milkshake"), are Christians themselves, but they believe that fanatics' efforts to merge church and state only pave the way for Antichrist's reign.

In fact, the leader of the insurrection is secretly a demon worshiper who hopes to launch Armageddon: the final, world-ending battle between good and evil.

Confronting such extremism requires Fudge and Milkshake to work with a military assassin, "Major Taco," who was once Milkshake's romantic rival. Milkshake, an eternal optimist, insists that she and Taco are best friends and that Fudge and Milkshake have a duty to help Taco deal with post-traumatic stress from combat. Further, a general who commands all three of them insists that the three work together against terrorists.

Yet Fudge wisely foresees trouble brewing.
