By Mike Wilczynski

GENRE: Science Fiction
LOGLINE:

When a global quake enhances human intelligence, a data-driven geologist must stop the President from authorizing a deadly procedure before the next seismic strike resets humanity.

SYNOPSIS:

Epicenter follows Ellie Whitaker, a data-driven geologist who took over the National Geological Center after her father was sidelined by dementia.

When a global quake hits, something incredible happens: 93% of the population becomes dramatically more intelligent—including her father, whose dementia vanishes overnight.

Ellie uncovers the cause: it’s tied to the appendix.

A dangerous idea spreads—people can choose this upgrade with an organ transfer?

The President fast-tracks a radical procedure to replicate it—partnering with Ellie’s disgraced ex-husband, who turns it into a lucrative business for the wealthy… and for the President himself.

As the crisis escalates, Ellie grows close to the President’s Chief of Staff — a man torn between loyalty to the administration and doing what’s right.

Ellie realizes something no one else sees: another seismic event is coming—and when it hits, the intelligence surge will reset. She normally lives her life based on facts, but this time her instincts tell her something is wrong. Anyone who alters their body to get ahead could face catastrophic physical consequences.

Now Ellie must stop the President from authorizing a procedure that could kill millions—before the next quake hits.

When it does, the world snaps back to normal—and those who did game the system pay the price with their lives. Others who listened to Ellie’s plea, including the President, are spared.

Epicenter is about what happens when humanity gets smarter… but not wiser—the world’s first intelligence pandemic.
