SYNOPSIS:
Derek comes from an affluent and loving family, and life is good. But, when he loses his twin Dean to a high school shooter, he must face “Dean” everywhere he goes. His parents and their failing marriage, nor their new foster family can replace or repair Dean’s loss and they go their separate ways. This pushes Derek on a long journey to escape Dean. Derek soon realizes exhaustion is the only escape and loses himself in a trust fund fueled fitness obsession. Banned from every sport facility he pushes himself at, Derek grows to heroic proportions at the cost of losing his touch with others… and his fight to escape Dean. Until the day he finally accepts Dean’s offer: Restore their extended family and Dean will go. Alone, Derek struggles with the collision of his own fitness business and his unwilling transformation into a half-baked vigilante hell bent on reuniting his family. Dean guides A-Man to Trey, where A-Man stops a group of Hoodies trying to rob him. Which leads to Belinda, saved from a gang rape. And these spark the interest of a rising cop named, Shawn and Shawn’s estranged, special needs brother, Rick, a follower of A-Man. Worse, both become members of Derek’s fitness center to regain their relationship. But, Derek wants Dean gone more and A-Man rescues Chris from suicide. While Shawn gets closer to A-Man’s secret I.D., Dean leads A-Man to Raphael, who turns A-Man away after he destroys Raphael’s father’s stolen drugs. A-Man, Dean, Rick, Shawn, Raphael, and his dad known only by his prison name, the Butcher are drawn together into a public brawl over these missing drugs and for Raphael, and Rick saves A-Man from death at the hands of the Butcher. While A-Man mentally and physically recovers from the beating, Derek must give Shawn the run of his business while Shawn broods over his suspension because of the brawl. Months pass and A-Man resurfaces to continue his quest, but is instead coaxed by Rick to learn from his new fighting teacher, Teach. Shawn cracks A-Man’s secret I.D. and the Butcher comes close to his missing drugs, which lets Dean guide the A-Men on an assault for Raphael in an abandoned subway terminal with the Butcher and his Hoodies. But, Derek realizes that he’ll need a new tactic to win Raphael back and gathers his very special step brother, Ben. A random bus encounter with Amy, an abused girl starting over, brings a nice distraction to the hard truth: A-Man is a public fugitive. Shedding his vigilante costume and name, he brings Ben to the Butcher’s bowling alley hangout to close his fight for Raphael in a new disguise. A-Man and Shawn shut down the Butcher, Oscar, and his Hoodies while Ben reminds Raphael where home really is. Derek’s and Shawn’s families restored, heroes and villains part ways. But, every action has an equal and opposite reaction: Rick has resumed the A-Man mantle, the menace known as Payback is born as an accident from A-Man’s and Butcher’s public brawl, and Derek rescues Amy in disguise one last time. A-Man and Dean may be gone for now… But, not for long.
