SYNOPSIS:
F.B.I. Agent Alice Liddell journeys to the corrupt city of Wonderland to locate two missing young girls who were last seen holding a white rabbit puppet. Once there, she must partner with local Police Officer Charles Dodgson to escort her around this strange, seedy town. As the case unfolds, our heroes must navigate an array of unsavory characters including drug-dealing twins named the Tweedles, a conniving reporter with his own agenda named Cheshire, and an incarcerated madman known only as The Hatter. With the clock ticking, Alice races to rescue the missing children, and in turn, redeem herself for past sins.
Alice Liddell - (30’s) - Alice is the top FBI agent in her division, as well as the most difficult to get along with. Stuck in a male dominated world, she often finds herself overworked and underappreciated, leaving her with a bit of a chip on her shoulder.
Charles “Chuck” Dodgson - (20’s) - Chuck is a young, up and coming police officer, that isn’t even sure he’s working in the right field. After a failed attempt at becoming a writer, Chuck turned to the force for stability, which has led him too often to the wrong kind of adventures.
Hatter - (??) - Hatter is half crazy and equally half genius. His love for riddles is only matched by his disdain for the Queen of hearts, who bashed his head in with a croquet mallet. Now behind bars, Hatter manically plots his revenge and waits for the day he is set free.
Coverage from Tracking Board:"'ALICE' is an incredible re-imagining of the classic story of ‘ALICE IN WONDERLAND’ told as an R-rated cop procedural. While it is fun to see such familiar characters as Alice, The Mad Hatter, and others referenced throughout the script, this is a well-executed drama that stands out on its own merits due to the execution of its story and characters. The tone of the script is very dark which greatly elevates the procedural aspect of the script."
