After celebrating a recent contract win at work, high-flying finance executive Edward wakes up suddenly single, suffering severe headaches and nausea. The police are at his door to arrest him for the murder of a strange girl, the night before, a murder that he doesn’t remember committing. But this isn't his only problem. The headaches begin to turn into memories, memories of a life he's never lived; memories that are not his own.
SYNOPSIS:
Do you remember what you did this morning? Do you remember going to work, getting the bus? Driving? Walking? Getting home? Think. I’m sure you do.
Do you remember sitting down, logging on and deciding to read this Synopsis?
All of these would be your memories, from your past, wouldn’t they? It’s obvious that, if you remember it, then it must be your past experience. But what if the memories you have from what you did today, weren’t your memories, but someone else’s?
Quasi-memories or ‘Cryptomnesia’; that’s what Psychologists call it, but pool shark and high-flying finance executive Edward Barton didn’t know that, the morning he woke up, after celebrating a recent contract win at work suffering severe headaches, nausea, and memories that were not his own. After that, nothing was ever the same again, especially as the police are at his door to arrest him for a murder, he doesn’t remember committing.
After a referral to Psychologist, Dr Clarrisa Jensen, herself researching this phenomenon, and a sequence of treatments, the symptoms worsen, and the memories become more detailed.
Edward and Clarrisa embark on a dangerous quest to discover the truth about what has happened to him, and why he is experiencing memories of a life and a past he’s never lived. Pursued by mysterious assassins, it starts to become apparent that it is not normal, and that something or someone else, may be to blame.
Edward has been weaponised, and he is now a tool to be used by unseen forces, to achieve an objective. The problem is, he doesn’t know it yet. If he does find out, will he be able to separate reality from fantasy, and will he work out what the end game is, before it’s too late. Before he can save the lives at risk, he must first work out who his new memories belong to.
