By Joey Johnsen

GENRE: Drama, Comedy
LOGLINE: With redemption in her eyes and her estranged daughter at arm’s reach, a homeless drug addict struggles to transform her life’s tragedies into a successful career as a motivational public speaker.

SYNOPSIS:

“Hope’s Address” is a rags-to-riches drama about redemption and the resilience of the human spirit. Set in the early 90’s, a midwestern transplant named Hope battles an unrelenting addiction and homelessness while trying to navigate the brutal streets of New York City. Her traumatic past ever-present, our antihero relies on her bag of tricks—cunning wit, devious charm, and sticky fingers—to find her next meal…and fix. But after a chance encounter with her estranged daughter, Hope leans on a hodgepodge of recovering addicts and her latent talents as a compelling orator for a chance to reunite with her not-so-little, college-bound girl. With no shortage of personal tragedies in her arsenal, Hope succeeds in flipping her tumultuous past on its head, using her own life story to craft a successful career as a motivational public speaker.
