LUNA
By Kimberly Wehr

GENRE: Fantasy, Adventure
LOGLINE:

Eda, an autistic woman in a near future where lack of water threatens the global population, saves Luna from government agents; and must find a way to return Luna to her home planet before they can use her power to destroy free will and control life on earth.

SYNOPSIS:

The global climate crisis has come to a head. Fresh water is a luxury hoarded by the wealthy, and oceans are being drained by tech giants who make seawater drinkable. EDA BEAUFORT and her older sister SAMY had a difficult upbringing because of their hyper religious mother’s belief that Eda’s neuro divergent behavior as a child was a sign of satanic influence. Eda has spent most of her adult life waiting in vain for God to fix her, but has always had her sister for support.

After Samy’s death, disturbing dreams and unanswered questions leave Eda feeling increasingly unmoored from reality, worrying her brother-in-law Peter. When Eda rescues LUNA, an alien woman suffering memory loss, Peter thinks she’s lost all touch with reality and considers permanent care for her. Afraid of losing her life, as well as control over her mind,Eda becomes resolved to send Luna back to her home planet as quickly as possible, entangling her former classmates, holier-than-thou HEATHER and local radio sensation LOGAN, along the way.

After a nearly lethal encounter with agents from the organization Samy worked for, Eda realizes that the mystery of what happened to Samy is tied up in the mystery of Luna, and a terrifying plot for global take-over. They're the only ones who know, and Luna is the only one with the power to take down the agency once and for all. Eda and her unexpected new friends risk everything to embark on a life changing journey to save the planet and realize the extraordinary within themselves.
