Seeking to reconstruct herself in the wake of her father's death, a promising young FBI agent solves a cold case while unraveling a web of corruption within the FBI.
SYNOPSIS:
Legacy is set in an alternate near future where technology has jumped ahead. Along with advanced A.I. and androids, man has achieved the capability to copy the human brain onto another - willing or not. This technology was the catalyst for a new breed of criminal. Imposters: people who steal the living bodies of others through mind transference. MAX KINCEKY has great instincts when it comes to people and is the first to realize when her beloved father is replaced by an imposter. Now a grown woman, she is eager to join the FBI Legacy Program, a federal initiative to promote minorities and persons from marginalized groups into positions of authority in all levels of government.
Though she earns top scores in FBI academy, her childhood trauma has left her dependent on medication to manage her crippling anxiety. Recognizing her potential, Max is taken under the wing of veteran agent ARTHUR GRANVILLE, the guy who always gets his man and the girl. They’re investigating FRANK MARINO, the head of the company behind transference, who is believed to be behind the trafficking ring creating imposters. But when Frank is murdered, suspicions shift to his right hand man TYLER JONES - but Max senses something wrong about Arthur’s fixation on Tyler.
Max begins to question Arthur, their relationship, and her role within the FBI when Arthur proves he’s willing to entrap their suspect. Unwillingly, Max finds herself at the center of a deadly game of cat and mouse between Tyler and Arthur. Arthur wants her to look the other way. Tyler says he wants to open her eyes. Neither of them can be trusted.
To take back control of her life, she must risk her career to begin an investigation of her own. Finally placing faith in her hunter instinct, she follows an increasingly damning trail of corruption toward the truth behind Frank’s murder, and what happened to her father years ago.
