THE TOWN THAT DREAMED OF SUNDOWN

LOGLINE:

A town on the brink of economic collapse turns to exploiting its history of horrific massacres to drive tourism. In the process, they revive a ghost thought long gone.

SYNOPSIS:

ACT 1:

Status Quo: Small town, stores are closing, people are barely staying afloat. The town has a history intimately tied to a Freddy/Jason/Ghostface-style mass murderer.

Who: Shea, a woman of about 40, the first survivor of these mass tragedies

Need: Loot

Want: to pay off years of debt

The problem: Shea is massively in debt and is about to go bankrupt. Agrees to a public appearance celebrating the survivors of the massacres, provided they pay her a large appearance fee.

Thrust to 2: The three survivors show up at the event and quickly become aware that another string of killings is about to begin.

ACT 2:

Upside-down world: Shea and her friends are being chased by a killer who seems more mysterious and invincible than ever. Being able to appear in more than one place at once.

False victory: Shea and her friends defeat the killer

Thrust to 3: As Shea and her friends begin to think they are safe, another killer wearing the same costume emerges from the shadows. They run, and the audience hears the voice of another.

ACT 3:

Storming the castle: Shea and her friends make a final stand at the town square

Final battle: As they begin the final battle, the girls find that they aren’t up against one or two or even three people, but dozens of them. As it is revealed that the whole town was in on it. The town wants to increase tourism and revenue by staging another massacre that will draw attention back to the town.
