Cassandra, a suicidal woman, intentionally puts herself in the path of a serial killer. When faced with her imminent demise, she finds the will to live, but now has to fight off the killer.

SYNOPSIS:

ACT 1:

Major Dramatic Question: Will Cassandra find the will to live or will she succumb to her depression and end her life?

Status Quo: Our World, Present Day, Cassandra’s life is menial and uninspiring. She is experiencing major depression and is losing the will to go on.

Need: Love - to experience a world where Cassandra feels she is wanted and needed by herself as much as the people around her

Want: To give up, to commit suicide

The Problem: Cassandra wants to die, but cannot bring herself to do it on her own.

Thrust to 2: Cassandra seeks out a serial killer and tries to get him to murder her.

ACT 2:

Upside Down World: Slasher set up, being chased by a serial killer

New Problem: Cassandra is unsure of the decision she has made and wants to walk it back, but the killer won’t stop

False Defeat: Cassandra is stabbed and lies on the ground, bleeding out. The killer leaves her for dead.

Thrust to 3: Summoning the will to live, Cassandra picks herself up off the ground. Dresses her wounds to the best of her ability and goes to find the killer.

ACT 3:

Storming the castle: Cassandra finds where the killer is hiding and charges in, ready for battle

The battle: Cassandra finishes the killer off and calls for help

New Status Quo: Cassandra gets medical treatment and begins therapy for her depression. She is a fighter. She beat the man hunting her, and she now has the strength to fight her mental illness as well.
