EGG SALAD

EGG SALAD
By Nellie Bly Workman

GENRE: Independent, Film-noir
LOGLINE:

After witnessing a violent crime, a midlevel accountant hides from the criminals and corrupt cops by dressing as a woman only to find that the "disguise" is the more genuine version of herself.

SYNOPSIS:

EGG SALAD is the story of a woman who will come to be known as Dorothy, though she doesn’t know that when our story begins.

Oliver Parkhurst is an upper middle class banker with his eyes on becoming a one percenter who witnesses a violent crime and makes the mistake of going to the police. Rather than implicate a model (wealthy) citizen in a horrific crime, the officer decides to kill Parkhurst.

Parkhurst survives and goes into hiding.

He’s got one week before forged documents, his key to freedom, are ready. So he hides out in the most unlikely place, a shithole apartment above a punk bar. To avoid being recognized he spends his time in skirts and stockings, presenting a woman to the world.

At least she tells herself she’s doing it to avoid detection. Leaving Oliver behind and introducing Dorothy to the world scratches an itch she’s never been quite able to scratch. She finds a community that accepts her. A woman that loves her. And the life she wished she had been living all along.

The bad guys close in and Dorothy must choose: Give up her new life for safety, or fight to preserve everything she never knew she wanted.
