Glitch, please. When a legal mix-up threatens to derail her walk down the aisle, an overachieving bride-to-be must return to her small-town roots to untangle a marriage license snafu involving the delinquent half-sister who shares her name.
SYNOPSIS:
Ava Rose Barnes worked hard to escape her small Southern hometown and half-sister, Ava Rae, who, because they share a name, has been screwing up her life since kindergarten. So when Ava Rose, just days away from her destination wedding, is told she’s already married, she knows exactly who to blame.
Desperate to fix this mix-up without alerting her fiancé—or his controlling socialite mother—Ava Rose leaves the city under the auspices of a work crisis. But correcting the marriage license isn’t as simple as she’d hoped.
To undo the damage, she’ll have to reunite Ava Rae with her estranged husband, Cameron, a literal knight in shining armor, prompting a road trip no one asked for: two combative sisters, a school bus full of 5th graders, and one reluctant Renaissance man.
Meanwhile, back home, Ava Rose’s mom and her pot-smoking stepmom duel over plans that collide a bridal shower with a bachelorette party.
Toss in an arrest for breaking and entering, an edible-laced meltdown, and one very awkward family reunion, and Ava Rose’s picture-perfect wedding plans are suddenly up in flames.
If Ava Rose is going to salvage her future in this Southern fried comedy, she’ll have to reckon with her roots.
