As he and his diverse group of friends make their way through the perilous world of Middle School, a young African American boy documents their journey in a video diary. 

SYNOPSIS:

Episode 1 Pilot: “First Day”

11 year old Lucas Read (Luke), is sitting with his parents, Cameron Read Sr. and May Read, in the principal's office at Creekwood Middle School, with Principal Love and Vice Principal Lawson. Although it doesn't appear to look too good for Luke, he assures us that everything that led up to that moment is not 100% his fault. Luke takes us back to the start of this crazy day, where his first day of Middle School began. Luke, his best friend Ray, and his three other friends Amy, Kindle, and Shawn, go through an unforgettable day filled with bullies, angry classmates, a militant gym teacher Coach Smith, a scary, and very strict, Vice Principal Lawson, and the breaking of the Creekwood Middle School's most valuable treasure, The Trophy Case. This is what lands Luke in the principal's office with his parents, Vice Principal Lawson, and Principal Love. And although this is only the FIRST DAY, Luke realizes that there’s more to come when dealing with his friends, his body, and his family and that he has to make some changes if he wants to survive these next three years of middle school.
