SYNOPSIS:

In Atlanta, GA. Aliyah, a beautiful, black, sophisticated, single woman, is out with her crazy sister, and her reserved best friend celebrating her 45th birthday on a night she will never forget. Bummed about turning 45, Aliyah does something she typically wouldn’t do. She has a few too many drinks and meets a younger guy, who sweet talks her into going to his place, and has the whole one night stand experience. Later that night, her walk of shame home was cut short when she finally realized she had no idea where she was and called for an uber. During her uber ride of shame, Aliyah’s uber driver, Charles, asks her how she was doing, which opened up a long yet gratifying conversation. At the end of the ride they both were smitten by each other, but knowing it probably wouldn’t go any further, due to their opposite backgrounds, they both went their separate ways. A couple of months go by and Aliyah is feeling signs of pregnancy but keeps writing them off as other illnesses. She finally goes to her doctor who informs her of the bitter truth, that she was desperately trying to avoid, she was in fact pregnant. After coming to, from passing out, it was unimaginable that she, at her age and being single, could be pregnant. Then after finding out how far along she was she realizes who the father is, but despite that, and not believing in abortion, she decides to have the baby. Months go by and Aliyah is preparing everything for the arrival of her son, Xavier. After Xavier was born Aliyah poured all she had into her son, devoting every waking moment to him. The first couple of weeks were the hardest, but it got easier as Xavier met some new friends in the daycare he attended. Everyday Xavier and his friends, AJ and Eddie, would talk, yes TALK, about things they had no idea they were talking about. Xavier expresses his contentment with it being just him and his mother, he doesn’t want anything to change that.

When Aliyah calls an uber because she is going to be late for a lunch meeting, guess who comes to her rescue. Charles arrives to take her to work and during the ride they get reacquainted. Charles was curious about Xavier's father and if she was still involved with him. She informs him that she was artificially inseminated, and that she was totally single. He asked her on what was the first of many dates, and she agreed to go. Aliyah dressed up that night, and Xavier became skeptical after being left with his grandmother several times and witnessing his mother leave in her church attire, according to him. Xavier asks his friends at the daycare what they thought was going on after he explained. AJ knew exactly what was happening since his mother went on A LOT of dates. Xavier, feeling disappointed and a little jealous at the same time, formed plans to keep his mother home with him. Aliyah invited Charles over one evening for dinner. During dinner Xavier does everything he knows how in order to get rid of Charles but nothing seems to be working. That was until a knock on the door interrupted their dinner, and standing on the other side of the door is Xavier's biological father, the one night stand. Aliyah is shocked and Charles and Xavier are confused. Jason, the one night stand, ran into Aliyah’s sister the other day and she told him about Xavier because she thought he should know. Jason wanted to meet his son he didn’t know he had, and maybe even have a relationship with him. After hearing this Charles was furious because Aliyah lied to him about Xavier’s father, he storms out the door and Aliyah runs after him leaving Jason and Xavier alone together. Xavier starts to cry making Jason even more uncomfortable, he then comes to the conclusion that even though he wanted to try and be a dad, he wasn’t ready for the responsibility. Although Aliyah apologized to Charles and pleaded for forgiveness, Charles wasn’t interested in the drama and lies and continued to get in his car and drove away. Aliyah, heartbroken, heads back to Xavier and as she was approaching the door Jason rushes out, apologizing for his impromptu visit, explaining how he’s not ready, and may never be for that type of responsibility. He leaves and Aliyah falls onto the couch and starts crying immensely. Xavier was a little happy it was just the two of them again, but was confused because of how sad his mommy was. Days later at the daycare Xavier was explaining to his friends how even though it's back to normal with him and his mother, it’s different. She is always sad and when she does smile it’s not like it used to be. He soon realizes, with the help of his daycare buddies, how important true happiness is and concocts up a plan to get his mom and Charles back together. Xavier recognizes now that maybe it’ll be ok having a mommy and a daddy…but that’s it!

That is until some months later after Aliyah and Charles get married, they share with Xavier that there will be a new addition to the family.
