A home robbery forces a mother to confront her parental responsibilities and her son’s compulsive lifestyle.
SYNOPSIS:
Kathy is a loving mother to her lazy nineteen-year-old son, Dan. Her kind nature means that she lets Dan get away with anything, things like quitting every job opportunity and even a university degree after just one day. To Dan, this overendearing parental approach makes him feel claustrophobic, pushing away his mother rather than embracing her.
Kathy cracks a joke to her prized possession, Wingsley, a sloth statue, as she eats her favourite breakfast - dipped toast in milk - when a masked robber enters the house, demanding access to her safe. Her first reaction is to panic, but when the robber turns around, revealing that the back of his football jersey bears the name 'Dan', Kathy realises the man beneath the mask's true identity and decides to use the situation as a teaching opportunity.
