An adult reimagining of the TMNT origin story set in the Edo period of Japan. The turtles, having been trained by Shredder are living in self-imposed exile while they deal with PTSD, opium addiction, and a life of isolation. We tell the story of them coming out of hiding to address their flaws, accept the tutelage of Splinter and oppose the Shredder.

SYNOPSIS:

Our story starts with Oroku Saki/Shredder abducting four young boys at the behest of a mad scientist named Dr. LeBae. When Saki brings the boys to Dr. LeBae, he is told they are too young to undergo the mutation; to bring them back when they are teenagers.

The narrative jumps ahead two decades. A young girl playing alone in the forest at the edge of the village is being stalked by a mutant. Just before the mutant attacks, Raph fights it and saves the girl, though she never caught a glimpse of her hero. Raph leaves enchanted origami animals as a calling card.

In Saiwa village, we are brought into the attic of a brothel (The House of Spring) owned by Shiharu (a name which means "fourth spring" e.g. "April"). Michelangelo wakes up next to his favored geisha only to discover that after smoking opium and passing out, he crushed her to death in his sleep. The ghost of the geisha scares him and implores him to bury her before Shiharu can find her. Just as Shiharu enters the attic, she sees Mikey escaping with the body.

We are shown Donatello, who lives in an underwater lair/lab. He's clearly been alone for a while and doesn't get out much. He has a conspiracy board with colored yarn going from place to place; at the center are two sepia-toned photos, one is Oroku Saki, the other is a samurai with tattoos on his left arm.

At the docks/fishmarket, we meet KC, a US Marshal on assignment. He goes around town calling out greetings and looking for something suspicious. He finds the House of Spring and meets Shiharu who tells him of the local urban legend concerning a giant turtle who saves women and children from dangerous forest mutants.

Back in Donatello's underwater lair, his Edison-era lighting begins to flicker. Elsewhere we see a woman in strange clothing running through the forest being chased by ninja. She makes it to town and Raph does his best to rescue her but she dies in Shiharu's arms. Shiharu gets a glimpse of Raph but assumes it's Mikey and calls out to him.

In Donny's lab, he's fixed his lighting situation. Raph sneaks in and Donny chastises him, reminding him that none of them are supposed to know where the others are. Raph informs Donny that Mikey has been living in a brothel rather than hiding away from humans and that he is putting them all at risk. Donny tells Raph not to get caught up in it and secretly plants a tracking device on Raph, who leaves angrily.

The next morning, Shiharu hires KC to find Mikey so she can get some answers. As he leaves the House of Spring, Tatsuo and a crowd of ninja sneak in to intimidate Shiharu for information concerning the woman in modern clothing. Mikey appears to put a stop to the abuse and when things get out of hand, Raph shows up and a ninja brawl begins. Shiharu hides behind her bar, readying her musket. At some point, Donny shows up and they carry an injured Mikey away, but not before being spotted by Shiharu, who thought Mikey was the only one of his kind.

KC gathers a group of ronin and they formulate a plan.

In Donny's underwater lair, he and Raph are tying up Mikey in the hopes of restraining him and getting him clean. When Mikey vanishes, Raph becomes upset and storms away. Donny makes up his mind to search for Leo to get his help.

Mikey is next seen in an opium den, getting high with KC and several rough-looking ronin. When Raph shows up, Mikey is tied up again but escapes when Raph distracts KC.

KC returns to the House of Spring to inform Shiharu that there are two giant turtles, she tells him there's actually three. She begins to reveal her past involvement with Oroku Saki and her ex-husband, Hamato Yoshi. Meanwhile, Mikey and Raph are duking it out in the streets. Raph defeats Mikey and hogties him, only to be captured by the Foot Clan shortly thereafter.

Shiharu and KC go in search of Hamato Yoshi/Splinter while Donatello is searching for Leonardo. When Shiharu and KC find Splinter, we learn that as a man, Yoshi tried to be a positive influence on the four boys Saki was training. They formulate a plan to bring Donny and Leo out of hiding to rescue Mikey and Raph.

With the help of an old Japanese witch doctor, Shredder is able to gain access to the Myrror, a connection to the multiverse. He plans on exposing the turtles to the Myrror and banishing them to foreign realities in order to get them out of his way.

With the help of Usagi Yojimbo, Donny is able to find Leo and convince him and his disciple Ding Ling to help rescue their brothers. As they depart, Splinter is there and Donny recognizes him as Hamato Yoshi by the tattoos on his left arm. They hurry to the rescue.

An assault on Shredder's fortress is carried out, and a double-cross in the turtles' favor puts Mikey and Raph on better footing. Eventually, the brothers are reunited, but Shredder exposes them to the Myrror and the switch occurs.

A tragic death causes Michelangelo's already reckless life to fall apart. The fallout will bring his brothers out of hiding and introduce them to new allies in their struggle to make peace with their mistakes and understand their past and their place in the world in...Taturohiro.

An accident of the multiverse shuffles the turtles with various versions of themselves. Now, they are in a race against time to defeat Dark Leo and reclaim their rightful place in reality. When things come up short, Donatello must pay a terrible price to make things right in...Turtles All The Way Down.

Donatello's loss has crippled him. When Krang steps through the broken Myrror and shatters the team, Raph and Mikey will need their new allies to defeat Krang and heal Donatello in...Techno Turtle.

Leonardo still has not returned from rescuing Splinter after Krang's wormhole displacement. Donny, Raph, and Mikey must protect the innocent when a forest mutant uprising threatens everyone's safety. When the team finally reunites, a new terror emerges from the Myrror in...Rumble In The Forest.
