SYNOPSIS:

‘Into The Mist’ is a hot button topic action thriller, set during the recent US pull-out of Aug 2021 from Afghanistan.

President Biden announces there will be no extension to the August 31, 2021 deadline to pull out from Afghanistan.

Mike Khan, a former American secret service agent of Afghan descent cannot travel to Jalalabad (Afghanistan) for his son’s wedding as he is recovering from a recent Covid infection and has just been diagnosed with failing kidneys.

The announcement worries him and leaves him with the unenviable task of rescuing his wife Clara, son Haroun and daughter in law Zena; who have been kidnapped in Jalalabad and vanish without a trace after his son’s wedding.

Armed with a razor-sharp intellect, understanding of ground realities and technology, Mike knows the US administration is in pull out mode. It is up to him to steer his family away from clear and present danger, in a country at the crossroads of history and regime change. Mike has to also ensure that his family’s identity is not revealed to factions of the ruling dispensation, drug lords, mafia and others; all of whom, he has caused deep wounds in the past.

He enlists the support of Cheryl Dykes, a deep-cover CIA operative, Harjit Singh, an Indian RAW agent and private contractors to pull off a daring rescue mission. Clara, his wife, is injured in the ensuing firefight, which has causalities on both sides. Against all odds, Cheryl and Harjit must make sure that Mike’s family safely boards the last flight to the Ramstein Air Base, in Germany.
