BLOODLINE OF THE VALKYRIE

BLOODLINE OF THE VALKYRIE
By Joaquin Alejandro

GENRE: Romance, Drama
LOGLINE:

Haunted by violent ancestral dreams, a divorced woman uncovers her bloodline to a Viking queen and must reclaim her identity as a buried legacy of war, memory, and survival awakens within her.

SYNOPSIS:

Brandi Savoy is jolted awake by recurring nightmares of battle horns, fire, and a woman she cannot place. Estranged inside a dying marriage, she follows the disturbance into a library search for Viking history, where a pendant at her throat and the name “Oakhaven” begin linking her dreams to an ancient royal bloodline. As her husband Mason dismisses her growing obsession, Brandi pushes deeper into the mystery, finding support in librarian and dream researcher Joaquin, who helps her trace the Falk family name, the history of the “444” forefathers pendant, and a possible ancestral connection to a lost Norse kingdom. The search gradually gives Brandi what her marriage no longer can: purpose, agency, and a self she recognizes.

In the 8th century, Princess Ingrid Falk returns home too late to save Oakhaven from the warlord Myrkvi, who massacres her family and desecrates the kingdom. Shattered but unbroken, Ingrid rises from grief into queenship, rallying survivors, rebuilding Oakhaven, and transforming personal revenge into a collective cause for the broken peoples gathering at her gates. Guided by the oracle Myrthra and steadied by Ragnar, Ingrid turns Oakhaven into a war state, executes Myrkvi in a ritual act of justice, and prepares for the larger war still coming from the allied clans that destroyed her world.

As Brandi’s modern investigation deepens, the past and present begin to lock together. Genealogical evidence points to Falk as a real royal line tied to Oakhaven, with Brandi likely descended from Ingrid herself. At the same time, Ingrid enters a politically dangerous alliance and marriage with Bjorn, an ambitious war leader whose desires for Oakhaven may reach beyond loyalty. Their union produces children and secures the bloodline, even as war with Neykim’s coalition becomes inevitable. When the armies finally meet at Porunn, Ingrid leads Oakhaven to a brutal victory, personally killing Neykim and returning crowned by war.

In the present, Brandi leaves Mason, restores her maiden name, and allows herself to build a new life with Joaquin while continuing to follow the truth of her lineage. Finishing Ingrid’s story, she discovers a hidden diary page revealing that Ingrid, too, began having vivid dreams the moment her father placed the pendant around her neck. The final revelation transforms Brandi’s journey from research into recognition: she is not merely fascinated by an ancient queen, but the living continuation of her bloodline, carrying forward a legacy of memory, endurance, and survival.
