SYNOPSIS:
Synopsis peyo.dupont@icloud.com EXPECT DEATH We see HENRY VINES of Henderson, Nevada, 20, suspicious and anxious, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, inside of his parents garage, searching through his deceased mother's files that are contained in boxes, etc. He is overpowered by conspiracy theories, which are aimed at the hospital that treated his diabetic mother. One guess is that the doctors had conducted an experiment that killed her. FROST VINES, 50, drunk and oblivious, wears soiled clothing. He hears noise in the garage and rises from his stupor on the sofa to go there. He braces himself against the garage door frame and sees his son, and then returns to the living room. Later, Henry's relentless digging strikes paydirt as he reads an old letter from a biological mother he never knew existed. Sparked with a new fire, he opens his laptop computer to begin a Google search online. After hours of searches done using the unique last name of the man presumed to be his biological father. Henry phones a place in Las Vegas, Nevada; named, The Original Band Bar. He speaks with the owner. FRANKLIN BAND, 30, nonchalant and a can-do-person, dressed to the nines, agrees to talk, though they must meet at his bar. Henry drives to the bar, assembles with Franklin inside of a back office; where they engage in a deliberate conversation. Franklin produces an old photograph, and says, “This is my big brother and his wife…I can guarantee we're blood related. Henry studies the photograph as Franklin informs him that the couple was wanted outlaws shoot dead by authorities. He is identical to the man in the picture. Franklin excuses himself, and gets back to the affairs of his business. Henry is seated on a bar stool, now confused, though, relishing his first intoxicated experience. He comes to understand his circumstances with a new train of thought. He attracts an ENTHUSIASTIC WOMAN, who invites him to her hotel suite at Caesars Palace. Outside of the bar, Henry awaits Enthusiastic Woman. He hits a DRUNK MAN with a devastating punch for one of his cigarettes, and puts a cigarette between the dead man's lips. Several days later, Henry receives confirmation of a positive familial DNA match with Franklin. Armed with the proof of a blood relation, he is sure of his adoption as an infant. He decides to vanish and rendezvous with an Enthusiastic Woman in Arizona. Henry and Enthusiastic Woman run away together. That same night, he drives to her ex-boyfriend’s house without her knowledge, murders him, and then puts a cigarette between the dead man's lips. Back at the Holiday Inn hotel suite, where Enthusiastic Woman waits for him. The couple prepares for an evening out at a nightclub. While inside of a downtown Phoenix nightclub, Henry shoot and kills a teen inside of the men's restroom, and then places a cigarette between the dead man's lips. A connection is made between 3 murders, due to the ritualistic placement of a cigarette in each of the victim's mouths. The headlines in the media across the nation announce a name for the serial killer: The Chain Smoke Killer. In Los Angeles, DANIEL OWENS, 42, private investigator, wears a Nike jumpsuit while he visits his parent's residence. He pairs up with his co-worker to find the person responsible for killing his teenage brother at the Phoenix nightclub. Henry’s killing spree cut short the lives of 5 people--including Enthusiastic Woman. Almost out of money and nearly out of his mind; he drives from Arizona to Nevada. Henry spends time alone in a downtown Las Vegas Motel6. At dusk, he strolls down the Las Vegas strip, and jumps into a waiting taxi cab. Henry alights from the taxi cab a block from the Vines’ house. He steps in the direction of the house he grew up in, and then stops once he spots a stranger step from the well-lit porch. He ducks off into the shadows of a neighboring residence. He watches the stranger walk across the street, and then enter the passenger side of the car that stays parked. Unaware of the danger that looms, Daniel and his partner remain in the parked car outside of the Vines’ house. Next, Henry snatches open the passenger side door and FIRES three silenced bullets that explode into Daniel’s co-workers body, then he orders a shocked Daniel out of the car and into the Vines’ house. Two FBI agents arrive at the Vines’ house. One agent covers the front door. The other agent gains access through the unlocked backdoor of the house, then SHOOT and kills Henry. Frost witnesses the shooting of his son and collapses into mania. Ultimately, we come to understand that there are things and moments in everyone's life that can make or break us.
