SYNOPSIS:

Daughter of a Cuban immigrant, Venus is a young black woman without much perspective on life working as a maid for the powerful Karol family and serving drinks in a bar in New Orleans. Her path is crossed by William Karol, the ingenious only son of her employers who, in connection with her older brother Jay, approaches her with a plan to steal a ruby necklace from his aunt, The Countess.
