In 1845 Montana, a dangerous mountain man crosses paths with a Native American family and escapes justice for his crimes, only to face ravenous skinwalkers & the legendary Wendigo.
SYNOPSIS:
Aspen Grove is Rashomon meets The Revenant.
Native mythology underlies this Folk Horror morality tale in the vein of Bone Tomahawk .
Cultures clash as Manifest Destiny fuels Western Expansion in the 19th century United States in the opening chapter of an epic tale that spans centuries. White settlers have encroached deep into Native lands, bringing religion, disease and conflict to the frontier. Saved from certain death in the wilds of Montana by a Crow family, a fur trapper must keep his secrets hidden to regain his freedom. Running from the ghosts of his past, Geoffrey faces an otherworldly reckoning, setting events into motion that will reverberate through time.
Combining historical, fact-based realism with a dark fantasy backdrop, Aspen Grove explores issues of race, the foundations of religious belief, the wages of sin, and the folly of Man against the savage force of nature personified.

Love the idea of a Western/Horror Timothy! Very cool genre-blend.
Thanks, Jason.

Super super into the idea of a Western/Horror, Timothy! I think that the logline itself isn't quite as clear in the second half as it is the top half (for my money, I feel like I'd want something more clear-cut than "an otherworldly agent of Nature's wrath"), but! Conceptually, I'm all in :)
