SYNOPSIS:
She may chew tobacco, smoke cigars, and sell rattlesnake skins for a living, but senior citizen Sadie Barnett is not about to be returned to a nursing home...not if she can help it, and certainly not by her greedy son, David, eager to takeover the family business. Instead, she hides incognito in a ramshackle trailer in the middle of the desert, her true identity not even known by her young sidekick, Tom Jasper. Late one evening during a snake hunt Sadie is mesmerized by a UFO that deposits mind-altering alien dolls. She takes the dolls to Tom's general store and sells them on commission. From that moment on her life and that of the local community changes as the evil dolls brainwash their victims into killing one another--Sadie's best friend, Joyce Edwards and a family passing through on vacation. In the meantime, David hires two Mexican thugs to track down Sadie and bring her back to the nursing home. They arrive at the general store during a violent monsoon storm and hold Tom, Will (his teenage clerk), and Lyric (Tom's dog), hostage until Sadie shows up. When she does, she's unknowingly accompanied by the dolls and all hell breaks loose as a mad scramble ensues between the thugs, their hostages, Tom's dog, Lyric, and the dolls. The general store burns down to the ground and the thugs perish, but the fight is not over as Sadie, Tom, and Lyric pile into a truck on a mission to destroy the remaining dolls planted across the country. In the end, David discovers an unexpected surprise; a doll sent to him in the mail that is prepared to takeover the family business as well.
