A teen age former hockey player gets a second chance to see how good he could have been when his twin superstar brother is injured only to be confronted with the bully coach responsible for him leaving the game in the first place.
SYNOPSIS:
JESSE WESTON was once a rising star hockey player who quit the game rather than put up with a bullying coach, JAMES PICTON. When his twin superstar brother, MICHAEL, is injured, Jesse reluctantly agrees to impersonate him, if nothing else but to see, “what could have been”.
Jesse is not quite as good but has his moments and becomes a leader in the dressing room. Their plan has a few tense moments while the boys try to keep their secret from parents, team mates, coaches, trainers and Michael’s new girlfriend SHANNON, a former goalie who was also bullied out of the game by Picton.
When the head coach of Michael’s team accepts an NHL position, the new coach is James Picton. Sparks fly from the outset and Jesse’s motivation changes.
As Michael rehabilitates Jesse’s situation becomes further complicated as Jesse, acting as Michael, becomes quite close to Shannon
When Michael is ready to return their plan begins to unravel. Michael has decided to break up with Shannon choosing hockey over everything else. Jesse and Shannon’s relationship goes south when Shannon discovers their secret.
Jesse needs Shannon’s help ensure Picton is removed from coaching. She would rather forget the whole thing ever happened until she is once again confronted by Picton.
Together Shannon, Michael and Jesse plan the final confrontation resulting in Picton’s removal from the game, giving closure for Jesse and Shannon.
And, yes, Michael does get drafted into the NHL.
