After a clip of her being dumped by her suddenly A-list, walking-red-flag-of-a- boyfriend goes viral, a jaded songwriter and her best friends drunkenly create "The Cancelled List" to help her find her sound and get him cancelled.

SYNOPSIS:

Up-and-coming singer-songwriter Odette Adams is hoping to finally break her writer's block and finish her debut album with Simon Records to kick off what is supposed to be the best summer of her life. And hopes to finally prove to her parents that she can make a career in music and not have to move home at the start of September, when they will stop funding her dream. But when her boyfriend, aka walking red flag/Hollywood Heartthrob, Carson Pierce, books the lead in the most-anticipated book-to-screen adaptation of next year, Abyss, Odette's life comes crashing down around her. Not only does he dump her publicly, Elle-Woods-style, but in her shock, she has a complete meltdown that goes viral on social media. Unfortunately for her, her record label decides that with all of this mess online, in combination with her writer's block, she needs to go dark on social media and that they are putting her EP on pause until the end of the summer, where they will re-evaluate her record deal.

After giving her three days to mope and eat her weight in ice cream, Odette's best friends Lexi, the devil on her shoulder, and Brinna, the angel on her shoulder, drag her out clubbing. And in their drunken states, the trio jokingly says they should cancel Carson and let everyone else see him the way he really is. The next morning, while nursing their hangovers, the best friends rediscover their plan from the night before and decide to put it into action and create The Cancelled List: 26 ways to ruin your ex's life and get him cancelled. In addition, Lexi challenges Odette to write a song a day and post it to an anonymous TikTok account to help her break her writer's block.

But before they can get too far into deciding how to ruin Carson's life, Odette's label head decides that she must fake-date recently dumped and framed subject of the #1 break-up anthem on the charts, Eli Taylor who just happens to be Carson's new co-star, to repair both of their images. With a shared hatred of Carson and public dumpings, the two reluctantly agree to fake date for the summer while Odette tries to juggle her music and the outlandish list items that seem to keep backfiring to cancel Carson with the help of her girls.
