By Ezekiel Walker

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Drama
LOGLINE:

In a dystopian city defined by political correctness and racial equity, cult members do what they must to follow protocol.

SYNOPSIS:

On Homecoming Friday, Alexander, also known as Xando, is an HBCU student who has just been mailed a letter from a social club founded by his distant and recently deceased grandfather. The letter invites Xando to their ceremony to honor his grandfather, and he along with his reluctant roommate, Poitier, drive away to gather what belongings his grandfather possessed.

Upon arrival to the peculiar and dystopian city known as Dyversa, citizens known as ‘rinsers,’ are mandated to respect and honor each other for their ethnic differences as a steady patrol of guards surveil all words and actions, reporting to the city’s lead officials, Richard and Holiday Angle.

Xando arrives and speaks with The Angles to learn the city’s rules and foundation as they convince him that they are not a cult, but simply a group of people dedicated to ‘rinsing’ themselves clean of hatred and prejudice.

The Angles inform Xando that they have a capsule for him which contains his grandfather’s belongings, however, it will not be ready until Sunday’s ceremony.

Xando and Poitier begrudgingly stay for the weekend and slowly learn more about the people, their hidden agendas, and witness a secret ruthless and brutal killing ceremony among citizens.

Realizing they are in fact inside of a cult, Poitier looks to uncover the truth while Xando slowly assumes the role his grandfather left behind, participating in a sadistic ritual at his grandfather’s funeral, and with the support of The Angles, commands a mass of rinsers as their new leader.
