After an accidental death by a failed blood transfusion, a physician becomes what is known as a Psychopomp, a harvester of death. A mysterious and unusual companion acts as his guide as he embarks on a perilous journey through the afterlife in search of his wife.

SYNOPSIS:

Donovan Black is a physician lending his medical expertise to many who have fallen ill to the Black Plague in 1165 London. The Lord Mayor executes an immediate order to create blockades surrounding St. Giles and in order for anyone to leave the city they must have a clean bill of health signed by the Lord Mayor. This infuriates the people of St. Giles, but most of all Donovan and his family.

Donovan joins a secret resistance group that seeks to help the less fortunate escape St. Giles without a signed bill. With the help of a Noble, a Priest, a Town Warden and Officer they devise a plan of action.

Donovan and his son, Gregory, who serves as his apprentice continue to help the sick struck by the fatal disease. The death toll rises and people are turning against each other, but terror follows whenever someone grows ill. Death is knocking at their door, escorting the living to their eternal slumber.

Death reaches Dononvan's wife, Elizabeth. Donovan comforts her in her final moments. While attending his wife's funeral, Donovan has an unsettling feeling. He notices a slender, dark figure hovering at a distance. As quickly as the dark creature appeared he vanishes. Donovan mourns his loss, but continues to work despite his mind blurring out of focus. Gregory suggests his father take a break, but Donovan is unable to see how is life is unraveling and explodes on his son.

Donovan watches as one dead body after another is carried onto wagons. Donovan meets with the Town Warden, asking to push to get the plan started sooner with the Resisistance group. As they proceed with the escape plan, things go awry and they find themselves compromised. Donovan is sent to prison and forced to watch the executions of his fellow conspirators. Donovan spirals even further into guilt and grief.

Donovan seeks answers from the tall, dark figure he has seen at random. Is it coincidence or is it fate? Donovan's life will forever be altered as his path is darkened by...The Psychopopm.
