Lives clash when a disillusioned HIV-positive bar manager who never met a mirror he didn’t like is confronted by a young man claiming to be his son from a one-night stand he doesn’t remember.
SYNOPSIS:
Johnny Wager is a man with no mission greater than finding a new body to bed. One day his life is interrupted when 21-year-old Mark Riley comes into the bar he manages and tells him his mother died and on her deathbed told him that he, Wager, is Mark's father.
Wager doesn't even remember his short fling with the girl when they were in high school. She was his last desperate attempt to be straight. She told her son that his father died a war hero, only revealing the truth when she knew she was going to die.
To make amends, Mark's mother, now a wealthy woman, wants the two men in her life to get to know each other. She writes a will that will entice Wager with $50,000 if he agrees and will financially penalize her son if he refuses.
Neither wants to play the game until Wager is left homeless and is forced to accept Mark's offer of a temporary home. The two are polar opposites and what ensues is both hilarious and heartbreaking. The Odd Couple meets The Boys in the Band.
