A determined teen in rural Alabama faces criminal prosecution after performing her own abortion – forcing the very prosecutor trying her to confront an unthinkable personal reckoning after she finds herself almost in her shoes.
SYNOPSIS:
RAE ANNE RICE, a young teen cheerleader from rural Alabama, with high hopes of escaping to college far away on a full cheer scholarship, finds herself in confrontation with the Alabama legal system after performing her own abortion.
While juggling court appearances with senior class milestones, the teen fears that criminal conviction will jeopardize her college entry.
In the meantime, ANNA BALDWIN, the prosecuting attorney at her arraignment is raped, forcing her to reckon with her stoic, by-the-book pursuit of justice. She joins CHRISTY FEENEY for Rae Anne’s defense at trial.
