A George Lucas-type director, famous for his eerily lifelike monster and alien films, shoots exclusively within his secluded, gated compound. After a stuntwoman’s mysterious death on set is quietly covered up, her sister infiltrates the production as a PA. She soon uncovers the chilling truth — the director’s hyper-realistic creatures are real, supplied by an alien ally using the films to pacify humanity before an impending invasion.
SYNOPSIS:
It’s a big movie premiere of the latest blockbuster, “Alien Dinosaur” (aliens are dropping off dinosaurs from another planet to depopulate earth). An entertainment reporter tells us Director Max Sheldon has ignited the box office and lead the way for 80s style films again after Covid and streaming services took audiences away. Not since Spielberg and Lucas has anyone made such captivating movies with realistic monsters Ala Jurassic Park. The audience says the monsters look really real and I can’t see the CGI! Then show our hero, BETH WRIGHTMAN (30) at the premiere with her sister CRYSTAL LEEDS (330. Crystal is a stuntwoman for Sheldon Industries, nicknamed the Scream Factory. Crystal acts weird. Gets really drunk before they walk on the red carpet. She tells her sister. “The work is really hard and beyond dangerous. But I want to do one more to pay for Lily’s college.” She spots the director and goes into the audience. Big party afterwards, but sis leaves, she has to go back to the shoot the next big alien invasion movie. But Beth is worried about her. She goes home and tells her husband, DESMOND (35). Her husband says it’s probably a lot of pressure. She says there’s danger. But he says, there’s always danger on big movies. On their tv we see a report on Director Max Sheldon and how he has a secretive compound in Marin County. Beth asks why it’s so secretive. Greg says he wants to keep his movie tricks to himself. I don’t blame him with all the money he’s making. Beth goes to her job as an accountant but soon gets a cryptic text from her sister that says, “the monsters are real.” Then a phone call from Sheldon Industries. Her sister has died performing a stunt. Beth is shattered. She and her husband go to her sister’s funeral. But something seems off when she talks to Director Max Sheldon. He asks if she talked with her sister before the accident. Beth says no. Beth wants to investigate the situation but the Stunt Riders Association shuts down the investigation. Beth tells her husband she wants to take time off from work and find out what’s going on. But she’s going to go undercover and join the film making community up north. She phones Beth’s friend, TJ, to get a job as a production assistant. She has to sign PDAs and has her background checked. But since she has a different last name than her sister, no one suspects anything. She enters the Sheldon Industries compound and it’s like entering a wonderland. Sets are built all over and there’s a community of workers who live with the director year round. Once she’s on the set, she finds everyone very friendly. They get paid a lot. No one has anything but good things to say about Max Sheldon. The scenes they are shooting for “Alien Dinosaurs 2: Earthly Rampage” are indoor scenes, laying pipe for the big monster set pieces that are filmed last. Beth tries to get into Director Max’s inner circle but she’s thwarted by a Production Manager Thomas Hepner, she butts heads with. He senses something is up with Beth, she’s too nosey. Beth goes out at night to search for clues at the compound. Hepner finds her and tells Director Max. But Max likes Beth. Beth says she’d like to be a stuntwoman. Eventually, they shoot the final scenes with the Dinosaur creatures and Beth discovers they are real monsters!! But how did they get them? She narrowly misses being struck down by one of the monsters because she gets too close. Director Max invites her to a special dinner in the inner sanctum tent. They bond but Beth asks too many questions. Max excuses himself and gets Hepner to find more about Beth’s background. Beth follows Max to his private inner sanctum — his mansion on the compound. She sees him go into his back yard and go inside an alien space ship. She manages to sneak on with the Director’s small entourage, following behind them. What she sees is the Director with real aliens and that the alien dinosaurs are real. The entourage leaves and Beth overhears the aliens saying they hope the movies prepare humans to surrender when they really unleash a whole an armada of ships with alien dinosaurs to wipe out the human race. They hope it makes them give up hope seeing the movies. Beth tries to tell this to Director Max. But he doesn’t believe her. She tries to escape the compound but she’s captured. They decide to use her for a stunt involving a dinosaur eating a human. But TJ saves her at the last second during the shoot and she manages to escape from the compound. She goes home but before she enters, she sees her husband talking with an alien through a window. She toes to a podcaster and shares her story but no one will believe her. As she’s taken away, the aliens fearing the truth has gotten out, decide to release the dinosaur hordes. And the monsters rampage through Earth killing humans. The end. Alternate ending, she convinces the government and the monsters are destroyed. The Director says he didn’t know they planned on a real invasion. He shoots the real story behind his movies how he met the aliens and it’s another blockbuster. Beth decides she wants to be a stuntwoman.
