Friendly facades become replaced with hidden murderous agendas when four teenagers and an Army Ranger cross paths with a disgruntled landowner and a serial killer within their group at a remote mountain cabin in Vermont.

SYNOPSIS:

Three high school students are invited by fellow student TOM to spend a night at his parent's mountain cabin. TOM is reluctant to inform them that his uncle RON ( a retired Army Ranger) may be at the cabin. He is also unwilling to tell them about a bear population and a disgruntled former landowner named GUS. The students include; TRINA, TOM, JAN, and LARRY.

While stargazing, UNCLE RON shows up at their campfire. He informs them that two campers were once murdered on the mountain. In meeting LARRY, he suspects that LARRY is the murderer. The students are not happy when UNCLE RON reveals he will be sharing the cabin with them. Arriving back to the cabin, a thunderstorm erupts. A tree crashes the roof pinning TRINA to the floor! Lights turn dark, and terror sets in as a banging noise is heard at the door.

LARRY fires a gun, and an old man crashes to the floor. It is later disclosed that the man is a dementia patient. The students move the body to a shed. Suddenly, a crying cub enters the cabin. The cub finds safety sitting next to where Trina is pinned down. Sounds of the mother bear clawed feet are heard roaming the darkened cabin.

As the mother bear gets closer, Trina feels the tree branch being lifted. In darkness, the rescuer's identity is hidden. Later in the story, it is revealed that it was old-timer GUS. The following day, UNCLE RON confronts LARRY accusing him of murdering the two campers. LARRY shoots and kills UNCLE RON. LARRY tells the other students that UNCLE RON left in the night. At daybreak, the students head to town, vowing never to speak of the events again. Five years pass, and the students meet again. TOM and TRINA become convinced that LARRY murdered the two campers and UNCLE RON. They engage on a mission to bring him to justice, which ends when LARRY, being pursued by police, hides in a mountain cave inhabited by bears.
