When the brother of his quirky best friend goes missing, an easygoing college student and his dysfunctional crew put their day at the beach on hold to embark on a wild rescue mission, only to learn the “kidnappers” are closer than they think.

SYNOPSIS:

Six lifelong friends decide to spend their final day of summer at the beach to send off their leader, Ethan, who is leaving the next morning to study abroad for the year.

The crew piles into Ethan’s ancient Winnebago but immediately alter their beach plans when Jasmin learns her rescue puppy has arrived a week early at the shelter. The diversion to collect Cocoa makes them late to pick up Randy’s brother, Reggie, at his duplex.

Dimwitted Randy, Ethan’s best buddy, believes his brother has been kidnapped based on events at a bar the night before. Jasmin and Phoenix, a football player at Harvard, give the theory some credence. But Ethan and Storm, Phoenix’s strong-willed twin sister, aren’t buying the notion just yet.

When they find Reggie’s duplex trashed and a neighbor tells of yelling earlier in the morning, along with a red Jeep that raced away from the scene, even Storm is convinced of Reggie’s abduction. Ethan, though, still believes there is a reasonable explanation.

After the neighbor provides Ethan and his wolf pack with a partial license plate, they head to the police station, where Duke, their old high school pal, gives them a list of potential owners, and the hunt is on for the red Jeep.

One-by-one, the group gets sidetracked in their search, eventually landing in a bar for afternoon happy hour. A furious Ethan finds them, annoyed that Reggie’s disappearing act and his posse’s behavior have ruined his last chance for a beach day with his friends.

After a trip to the grocery store, they spot the red Jeep, with its driver, Charge, a Navy Seal with a nasty reputation, leaving a hardware store with rope and duct tape.

With Ethan now convinced that Reggie has been kidnapped, the loyal band of brothers and sisters fearlessly follows Charge home, which is located across the street from Reggie’s. Determined to get inside, the friends try to lure Charge outside, but to no avail.

Just as all of their options to spring Reggie expire, Cocoa takes off after a dinging ice cream truck. Charge notices the commotion, and the final chase is on, with Cocoa recklessly pursuing the ice cream truck, the gang desperately trying to retrieve her, and Charge and his red Jeep badgering the Winnebago.

Cocoa follows the dinging truck to the parking lot at the beach. Charge arrives. With the team ready to rumble, Charge pleasantly makes his way along a walkway toward the ocean. The confused crew closely trails, where they see Charge talking to … Reggie, who has spent the entire day with his toes in the sand.
