DOWN FIRE

DOWN FIRE
By Samantha Fair

GENRE: Romance, Drama
LOGLINE:

When guarded, music-loving Elle Pearson is forced to befriend her infuriatingly charming new neighbor Jax Dagger, their reluctant connection sparks a bond that spans teenage years, heartbreak, and fame—until secrets, sabotage, and a dangerous obsession threaten to silence their love forever.

SYNOPSIS:

Elle Pearson has always preferred her music loud and her emotions guarded. But everything changes the day Jax Dagger moves in next door—an infuriatingly confident, guitar-playing new kid who quickly crashes through her defenses with his wild charm and undeniable talent. What begins as a grudging connection between two misunderstood teens soon becomes the spark behind a rising rock band, a deep friendship, and an undeniable attraction.

As Jax and Elle grow together—from moody middle schoolers to college dreamers to young adults navigating the chaos of fame—their relationship weathers every high and low: first loves, bitter arguments, missed chances, and a passionate bond neither of them can shake. But just as their lives seem ready to align, jealousy, betrayal, and a dangerous obsession from Elle’s past resurface—threatening not just their future, but their safety.

Set against a backdrop of gritty garages, flashing stages, and hard-earned dreams, Down Fire is a sweeping coming-of-age rock romance about friendship, first love, and the fight to be heard in a world that doesn’t always want to listen.

This sounds unique, Samantha Fair, but I don't know who the protagonist is from the logline. I think the ex is the protagonist, but I'm not sure. I also think the logline needs more details.

After ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion), a _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes).”

The inciting incident can also be at the end of the logline: “A _______ (an adjective and the protagonist's position/role) tries to _______ (goal of story) so/in order to ________ (stakes) after ______ (the inciting incident/the event that sets the plot in motion).”

Hope this helps! I really like the poster! :D
