TOASTED
By Joany Kane

GENRE: Romance, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A fretful phobic and a slovenly playboy must put aside their mutual abhorrence for each other to plan a festive Jack and Jill party for their BFFs (who abandoned them when they fell in love.)

SYNOPSIS:

Dean, always just a beer away from being foul and filthy, lives his life like a Jimmy Buffett song. Kate gets freaked out by germs, cilantro and bar snacks. Dean and Kate find themselves abandoned when their BFFs meet, fall in love and get engaged.

Abandonment turns to madcap exasperation when Dean and Kate are forced to plan the Jack and Jill party together. A swarthy European cake maker who likes to be licked and a mud-wrestling event gone horribly wrong complicate the proceedings.

Kate’s boss, a Woodstock hippie with an awesome bong collection, attempts to provide insight that veers between waxing philosophic and mumbling incoherently. In the end there is a couple of “I do’s” exchanged, but by whom and in response to what is the fun twist.

“Toasted,” an R rated comedy, celebrates the messiness of love.
