A NEW YORK CHRISTMAS STORY

As the happiest day of the year approaches, New York Power Attorney, EB Misner is filled with the spirit of regret, of which he has no explanation. It's not until a chance meeting of a young couple new to New York who seemingly play out scenes from his past, does he realize what's missing.

SYNOPSIS:

The holiday season is stressful enough, given all the forced happiness. EB Misner, known as New York's attorney to the mob, deals with the annoyances of the homeless, a nagging assistant, a family foundation seemingly always asking for money and his boss and mentor just died...Which he thinks is a good thing. But there's a hole in EB and he can't explain it. On his death bed, EB's boss Jasper pleads with him to not live life alone. It will ruin him. Jokingly, EB wonders if he'll see ghosts. A chance meeting with a young couple finds EB stepping out of himself and helping them find a local jazz bar. Suddenly, EB's past visits him. An old haunt he finds has completely changes. The former drunk is now the owner and he bestows advice on EB he never thought he would hear.

The next day, EB's nephew (Living with Down's syndrome)Mycroft and EB's brother, Elliot are on the set of The Today Show. With a new program, Mycroft talks of their new Business partner...EB's ex wife. The hole inside him widens. We learn the split was never fully faced by EB. His nephew is stricken and EB finds him confronted with the pain of Mycroft's parent's spending Christmas without their son. Unknowingly, EB becomes a Big Brother to Elliot after years of distance.

The future is played out after a mobster EB has made a fool of tried to have him killed. While unconscious, EB sees a future where he is alone and His life seems to be meaningless. Everyone has moved on and EB if left of contemplate his actions on a park bench, alone...Until his nephew, recovered and fully functioning without Down's. Mycroft lays out EB's mistakes and assures, they are all his fault...But they can be fixed.

When EB wakes, it is Christmas Eve and the race is on to start building the future he doesn't feel he deserves, but desperately wants to make.
