A dying woman enters a time portal to confront her criminal past, only to realize that what she seeks is in the present−but getting back is proving harder than she thought.
SYNOPSIS:
Enchanted with the idea of unveiling her own divinity, a young woman joins an elite religious sect claiming rare spiritual powers. Devoted and diligent, she rises through the ranks encouraged by her superiors–only to fall, unwittingly, into an intelligence unit buried deep within the group. There, she trades her morality for a sliver of privilege, and an unholy alliance is unleashed, turning her glorious journey into a maddening hellscape that leaves her branded a felon… Her debt paid, she starts over: a home, partner, a purpose–a life. And the center holds–until it can’t, and it all comes crashing back…
Partly based on real events, as portrayed in Netflix’s Wild Wild Country, this cautionary tale reintroduces the group in all its glory but infuses it with a fictional arc, allowing the narrative to expand, when needed, through a central character.
