SYNOPSIS:

Oren Turtletaud just graduated from medical school and is interning at the St. Barths Hospital. He is eager to learn from his senior colleagues, only to realise they themselves seem clueless, often catching them Googling or even using AI to diagnose patients and administer drugs. Disturbed, but afraid to fall out with his seniors, he is tempted to fall in line, but his empathy for the lives and wellbeing of his patients, force him to step up do his due diligence. That and the voice of his deceased grandmother in his ear like a living conscience constantly breathing morality into his ear.

Oren is young, enthusiastic but uncertain. He graduated the top of his class but not without his struggles. He had a rough start having to fund his way through school after the death of his grandmother. He didn't know his mother, she died during childbirth and his father was around in the early years, but out of the shame of not being the provider he wanted to be, he disappeared when Oren turned 14.

His grades were not great early on, but he started hearing his grandmothers voice in his ear during his second year. This motivated him to study and get good grades.

Despite all his achievements, he has issues standing up for himself. While he often overcomes it with his strong moral compass, it takes him sometime to work up the bravery.

Really strong doctors relying on Google/AI is a great comedic hook.

The logline might hit harder if it’s a bit punchier and leans more into the contrast between a moral intern and “guesswork medicine.”

Happy to help tighten it if you want this feels very close.
