A luxury cruise ship becomes a floating quarantine zone after a mysterious virus outbreak, forcing frightened passengers and crew to ask whether they’re facing a natural disaster — or something far more sinister.
SYNOPSIS:
What begins as a luxury cruise through international waters becomes a nightmare when several passengers fall mysteriously ill aboard The Olympus, a state-of-the-art cruise liner. At first, the symptoms resemble a severe flu outbreak, but the ship’s exhausted doctor soon realizes the disease behaves unlike anything she has seen before.
In the wake of the first death, panic spreads fast. The Olympus requests emergency docking, only to be denied entry by every port it approaches. Fearful of contagion, governments refuse quarantine access, transforming the ship into a drifting Petri dish trapped between political caution and humanitarian disaster.
Cut off from the world and increasingly divided by fear, passengers begin turning on one another. Rumors explode across social media. Some blame foreign governments. Others suspect bioterrorism. Religious extremists warn of apocalypse while conspiracy theorists claim the outbreak was engineered long before the ship ever left port.
Most dismiss those theories, until disturbing inconsistencies begin to emerge.
A maintenance worker bitten in the darkness below deck. Sick passengers who never crossed paths. Secret rerouting orders from unidentified authorities. Missing medical records. And signs that several passengers may have boarded the ship already infected with a pathogen designed to spread silently before symptoms appear.
As food shortages, class tensions, and paranoia threaten to ignite violence onboard, Captain Elias Ward becomes increasingly suspicious of the international organization directing the crisis response: the powerful Global Health Accord. Publicly, the organization promises containment and humanitarian support. Privately, hidden factions within it appear willing to sacrifice everyone aboard to prevent the truth from reaching shore.
But the conspiracy has made a catastrophic mistake.
The outbreak was designed to spread unnoticed through international ports before detection. Instead, suspicious nations closed their harbors too quickly, trapping the infected aboard the ship itself and creating a floating laboratory filled with witnesses, evidence, and surviving test subjects.
Now, The Olympus drifts through hostile waters carrying a disease that could destabilize the world; and secrets powerful enough to start one.
As the body count rises and the noose tightens around the ship, a desperate handful of passengers and crew must uncover the truth before the authorities tasked with containing the outbreak decide the only solution is to erase The Olympus entirely.
